Introductory speech and moderators at this workshop will be:
  • Prof. Dr. Goran Koevski: “Liabilities of the managing organs’ members in trading companies: corporate, civil and criminal responsibility (general aspects)”
  • Prof. D-r Nikola Tupanceski: “Practical dilemmas in relation to the criminal liability of the responsible person in a legal entity”
  • Dejan Kostovski: “Criminal liability of the responsible person in a legal entity in case of misuse of insolvency”.

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) Corporate Governance Program, supported by State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO, in cooperation with the Institute of Directors of Macedonia on 1st December 2009 organized an exclusive workshop of leading international experts, Risk Governance Series: The Board’s Response to Crisis, for Board Members of companies and banks from Macedonia, Kosovo and Albania along with corporate governance specialists. Topics which was Covered:
  • Types and sources of crises and how to spot them early on.
  • Possible consequences of crises in emerging countries.
  • Responsibilities and responses of board members during a crisis.
  • The role of the board in preventing crises.

The Launching Event of Institute of Directors – Macedonia was held on June 2, 2009 with the Conference “The New Role of Directors in Times of Economic Crises and Beyond”. Panelists:

  • Juan Carlos Fernandez Zara, Regional Manager, IFC Corporate Governance Program in Southern Europe
  • Olli Virtanen, Secretary General of the Finnish Association of Professional Board Members and member of the Board of Directors of ecoDa
  • Leonardo Peklar, Initiator and Founding member of Institute of Directors of Slovenia
At this conference was promoted the first publication of the Institute "RIGHTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF MANAGERS IN MACEDONIAN JOINT-STOCK AND OTHER COMPANIES state of play, dilemmas, and prospects" - from Phd. Goran Koevski, President of the Institute of Directors of Macedonia.
